Download the Strengthening and Stretching for Rheumatoid Arthritis of the Hand (SARAH) trial manual

The SARAH trial looked at two approaches to treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) affecting the hands. All people who entered the trial received joint protection advice, with half of all people in the study also undertaking an tailored hand exercise programme.

The trial showed that a tailored hand exercise programme is a worthwhile, low-cost intervention to provide as an addition to medication for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis of the hands. You can read more about the trial on our SARAH project page or look at the published results of the trial here.

We are currently providing the SARAH materials freely for NHS use, and we are collecting details of who is using the materials and where and how they will be used. You can download the SARAH trial materials from the OCTRU website after you have completed a short form.
